Visiting Layouts were as listed below. This year, as we have done for the last couple of years, rather than have a lot of small layouts in order to make the numbers look good, we went for a smaller number of larger, top quality layouts with just a few smaller layouts including, as usual the children's perennial favourite, Thomas. The larger layouts proved very popular with visitors in previous years.
Thomas the Tank Engine, TIDMOUTH
This is a '00' gauge layout which, as you would expect, children get the opportunity to run the trains. We ask for donations from parents rather than a fixed fee and this was donated to the Forget me Not Childrens hospice in Huddersfield. (Layout owner: Charlie Wright)
Kirkby Stephen West
This is a 4mm finescale layout based upon the actual location on the Midland line of the S&C. The layout is 26' x 10' (Layout Owners: Ian Macdonald and Martin Wright, who are club members)
This is a 2mm N gauge layout and is a representation of Mickleover station with long passenger and freight trains based upon Great Northern practice prior to Derby taking control. The viewing area is 13 feet long. (Layout owner: Kevin and Maggie Smith)
A '00' gauge layout based on a fictitious Southern region location in the 1950's. The viewing area is 8 feet in length (Layout owner Tom Lee).
Another 2mm N gauge layout which this time is inspired by the Holmfirth branch line . It is an end to end layout, the viewing area measuring 8 feet. (Layout owner Peter Langthorne).
A 00 gauge layout depicting the branch to the village of Clayton West. The period is 1950 to 1960. The viewing area is 18 feet . (Layout owner: Jim Porter who is a club member). This layout was built by Dave Garner who was a member for many years but due to ill health is no longer a club member.
An '0' gauge layout, which is a fictitious location somewhere on the Somerset and Dorset Railway near Bridgewater, set in the 1950's and 1960's. ( Layout owner: Michael and Ian Taylor).
This is a 2mm N gauge layout, of a fictitious location on the BR Western Region in the 1970's. The scenic area is 20'long. (Layout owners: Ben Pollard).
A '00' gauge finescale layout and depicts the largest intermediate depot on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway set in a time period which is Post WW2 + 20 years as little changed over that period. (Layout owner: Alan Price).
That Dam Railway
A 009 scale 4mm to the foot layout set in Wales depicting a massive Dam Wall with cranes, tunnels and a stone quarry with dressing shed. This is based on the Elan Valley and Grwyne Fawr near Abergavenny (Layout owner: John Lee)
A 2mm N gauge layout based loosely upon the East Midlands / North East from the year 2000. (Layout owners: Jeff Buttler)
A 009 scale 4mm to the foot layout (Layout owner: Stephen Penn).
Clee Valley Railway
A 7mm scale, 9mm gauge layout representing a miniature railway in 2005 based upon the Bure valley line near Wroxham. (layout owner: Peter Leadley).
A 00 layout which is a 'work in progress' project with a track plan based upon Buxton. This is an end to end layout. (layout owner: David Harpham).
