Club Exhibition

The club's annual exhibition this year took place place over the weekend of the 29th and 30th of October 2016. Overall the show went well and ran smoothly. We had a good turnout of members to help set up beforehand and to help with the catering and greeters on the door. We attracted14 very high standard layouts, all of which ran as planned. The winner of the best in show went to "That Dam Railway" which depicted the building of a dam inspired by the building of the real thing in the Elan Valley near Abergavenny.  Modelled in 009 scale it had a narrow gauge railway from the quarry and a shanty town for the workers. Unfortunately we haven't found a photo of it yet.

The exhibitions page contains more details of this year's exhibition. There were layouts in most popular scales plus Demonstration Stands and Trade Support.

Ian Entwhistle shot a video showing many of the exhibits at the 2016 show and makes for very interesting viewing.
This can be seen here.

The 2015 show can be viewed here.

This is the equivalent video from the 2014 exhibition, here.

Model Rail Magazine Index

We have created an Index for the Model Rail Magazine; this version is a combined effort with  UKmodelshops.  The Index is in the form of a Microsoft Excel file and is available as a free download. The file has been checked for viruses with the latest version of StopZilla anti-virus and anti-malware software and also does not contain Macros. The file size is currently about 1.5Mbytes.

This will be the last version of the file covering up to issue 225 as the person creating the index has decided not to continue with it any longer although the file on the UKModelshops website may continue to have updates from another source.

If you would like a copy of the file 'Right Click' on the link below and 'Save Target As'.
